We are very excited to host the EduFuturists Summit and Awards this year on the 12th July 2019, in Lancashire. We have been planning and organising this event over the last month, so I wanted to write this blog to update you on the plan.
In June 2018 we had our first ever summit, where over 60 delegates from all over the UK gathered to discuss educational technology. These delegates included teachers, consultants, educational leaders and business owners. We were privileged to be joined by inspirational educators and change leaders who delivered keynote talks and led hands on workshops. From our point of view the day couldn’t have gone better, and we were affirmed in our view by the feedback we received. One delegate describe the summit as the ‘best educational conference’ he had been to all year. We facilitated the summit, but it was the enthusiasm, openness and generosity of the delegates that made the day so special.
In 2019 we are back! Our summit will build on last years success and be even bigger and better. We are in the process of booking some inspirational keynote speakers (watch this space!) and we have already booked some of the leading edtech trainers in the country to lead hands-on breakout sessions (if you would like to submit a proposal to present at the summit follow this link: https://t.co/WWYLYZpbl3). The day will be a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow professionals in the field of educational technology, receive input from leading edtech innovators and take away what you need to transform learning for your students. We are exciting to have onboard some of the biggest edtech companies in the country who will make this a worthy conference for you to be at (we will announce these very soon!)
Myself and Ben have been inspired over the last few years by teachers and schools at the cutting edge of education. This year we want to celebrate those people in the UK who are transforming the lives of students. As a result of this, we have decided to host an award ceremony on the evening of the summit. This event will be a more ‘glitzy’ affair than the day summit and an opportunity to socialise and celebrate together. Those who have tickets for the summit will also receive an invite to the award ceremony. In the coming weeks we will be looking for nominations of schools and educators who you think deserve an award (again, watch this space!).
We both want these events to be about you, the educators making a difference up and down the UK. If you want to get involved in any way please contact us email@example.com. In the meantime we will keep you updated with everything. We will be announcing some exciting news summit and awards over the coming weeks.
